"A Land Lost to Fires." For the longest time, I wanted to explore Stromlo Forest; or rather, the small part of it that bordered Dixon Drive within the Holder area. It was a very short walk from our house to where it lay, through one of the tiny paths and across a road, past two bus stops. But since I was only twelve or so, my parents always told me that it was too dangerous, and that if I was to go I would have to be escorted by an adult. From time to time, my sister's boyfriend Karl (who is now her ex-boyfriend) would take me as far as the bicycle obstacle course he had personally shifted around, which was made from piles of gravel left behind during construction,"A Land Lost to Fires." by ~Gabielle-Riika
